I believe Iditarod is the heart of Alaska. I know we are connected as our adventure continues.
The weather is acting like September, but our calendars tell us it is August. Our teachers, cooks, and paraprofessionals have been busy preparing, and planning to provide an effective personalized instructional program for this school year.
We are rolling out a new web site which will provide greater access and opportunity for communicating with you. In addition to the web site we will also have a district App for ensuring vital notices are received in a timely manner. Watch for more details.
You should be asking about the Cultural Standards grant we have been awarded and the equipment which was a component of the grant. When you come to visit one of our village schools be sure to ask how the Swivl is being used to deliver culturally relevant lessons for our students.
The Regional Board has continued to support integration of technology in our classrooms. You will find new iMacs in our instructional settings throughout the district in addition to the iPads. Please ask the students how they like working with their new devices.
I encourage you to visit our schools, students and staff. Each of you are a vital member of our partnership to build successful learning opportunities for every child we serve. Thanks again for the opportunity to serve the Iditarod Region Students.
Traveling to the sites and the adventure continues.
