Great student opportunity
Application description language:
The LEDA Scholars Program, is a completely free, potentially life changing opportunity.
Beginning with a fully funded (travel, room, and board included), seven week residential program at Princeton University between junior and senior year of high school, LEDA builds a diverse community of high-achieving student-leaders who are prepared to succeed in college and beyond.
At the LEDA Summer Institute at Princeton, Scholars receive leadership training, writing instruction, SAT/ACT prep, and college guidance, while building a supportive community with students from all over the United States. The program does not end when they return home. During Senior Year, Scholars continue to receive personalized counseling and support through the college application process, and LEDA covers all costs associated with applying to college. 100% of our Scholars go on to four-year colleges and over 90% attend the most selective colleges in the country, where they have unparalleled opportunities and excellent financial support. In college Scholars receive academic counseling and personal support from LEDA College Success as well as career counseling from the LEDA Career Network.
To be eligible for the program a student must be a junior in a public high school, a U.S. Citizen, Permanent Resident, or have DACA status, and have a family income of less than $90,000. LEDA practices a holistic review process, but admitted Scholars typically have a minimum unweighted GPA of 3.6, are enrolled in rigorous coursework available at their school, and have demonstrated leadership in their school, community, or at home.
